Alstom GT13E1 Distilate Fuel Overflow from Return Line

06/05/2013 9:13 AM

Hi friends, Good day. We having 4 Alstom 13E1 open cycle gas turbine. Operating EOH about 16000. Recently, one of gt having problem during distilate oil operation. Machine can sucessfully can start on distilate oil, but fuel oil leak from venting line (from leakage oil tank). During FSNL and up to 50MW, there is no fuel leak. Once the load increase from 50MW to 60MW, there was high return flow to leakage oil tank and overflow from tank venting line. Can anyone share ideas to solve this problem.

If there is overflow from the tank venting line, then the tank is too full. Try not putting so much in there in the first place.

It's difficult to say. The equipment cannot be seen from here.

What did Alstom say during the phone call?

make sure the "fuel oil leakage & cooling air valve (mbn35aa001)" and "cooling air valve (mbh41aa010)" position is fully close when you operate in liquid fuel.

Because if its not fully close, the cooling air from cooling line in MBH41 will force suddenly the liquid fuel to leakage line..the result is high return flow to leakage oil tank..
