A rubber conveyor belt typically consists of two parts i.e. covers and carcass. Apart from these two a c.belt may have breakers also etc.
The covers are designed according to use for example type of material to be carried, temp. of the material, size , height of fall, abrassive index of the material, angle of inclination, loading frequency, no. of loading points etc.....
The carcass is available in fabric, steel cord, etc.
fabrics carcasses are available in cotton/ cotton, cotton/ nylon, nylon/ nylon, polyester/ nylon, hyten, etc.
As per indian standard m-24, n-17 grades are recommended for general purpose, abrasive, cut and gouging prone applications.
Heat resistant grade is available in HR T1 upto 100/125 deg.C and HR T2 upto 125/ 150 deg.C
lots more is there........i am short of time now......
Grade A is as per British Standard BS 490 and DIN 22101 and it is recommended for abrassive , cut and gouging resistant duty upto 70 deg. C temp.
Grade B is also recommended for as mentioned above but for a slightly light application.
Both grade covers are different from each other on account of tensile strength, elongation at break, abrasion resistance mainly.....
I hope the above will give you some idea about c. belts
