Pressure Control Valve

06/18/2013 8:49 PM

Hi,

Another process line in Upstream of pressure control valve and before this process line

Pressure transmitter is installed, my question is how do we know the pressure of installed pressure control valve whereas upstream of control valve is having another process line.

Please explain me...

Regards,

Shahid

The only real way to know for certain is to have the valve out of the line and bench-test it using a deadweight pressure tester. Of course, documenting the test on some form of setting record means that the valve doesn't have to come out of the line again.

A wise thing would be to receive a set-up record with the purchase of the valve in the first instance and file it in an appropriate place; one would then have a high level of confidence that the setting is correct for the application.

Put a gauge downstream of the valve.
