07/09/2013 7:03 AM

Nondestructive testing or Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component surface & subsurface without causing damage or effect to their future performance or properties.

You can talk about some special method that may be of some use or some information in a blog about NDT methods. It is sure not a good idea to advertise here a link to the website alone. I think you must have something to say so just do that. For advertising use proper contact and method.

There are number of active NDT Societies in India and abroad. I am a life member of NDT Society of India for over 30 years. Our Society was also linked to ASNT for certification and had their own training programs and also was extending help to India Air Force in aircraft testing. I have also seen similar NDT Society in UK.

From Delhi some of the people doing NDT work are not following norms. I have seen one of them who was using Radium source for testing gas cylinders in Malanpur industrial area near Gwalior City. I was invited there and when I asked if their Radiation Background was checked up, then they have only shown me a dead pocket dosimeter which was not even having battery. I was also surprised to see that they were using cancer therapy Radium source which is totally banned for Radiography.

If you are doing some good job then talk about it. India already has problem of not following IAEA norms as 100000 or more x-rays machines in India are operated without radiation safety and generally placed in domestic areas. There were number of deaths in India due to Radioactive scrap imported into India in the capital city New Delhi. Even doctors don't use TLD badges and no one cares for visitors into cancer hospital if they get exposed to high radiation to children and women. Industrial Radiography is worst managed as there are not enough trained physicists to supervise or no one wants to pay them their right salary.

AERB keep advertising rules and regulations but no one takes them seriously including India Government.
