In the meantime....

You should have an add on in your browser that will work.

It gets stuck when I try to use it. Not sure what's going on - I submitted this to the appropriate group to take a look.

It works overtime so you have to pay it time and a half.

Very good note concerning engineers making more jobs for others. On the eve of my graduation, my Surveying Prof. said "Go out, you degenerate bunch of immoral excuses for humanity, and give society HELL! Drink all the beer or Scotch you can get your dirty hands on, kiss and anything else you can do with any woman you can lie to. Take all the money you can as pay from those rich self-glorifying SOB's who think they are the best and most of all SCR-W them all! We Did!

Good Luck, Old Salt

My Survey Prof asked us to carry out survey of Town Hall and was asking one of us to lead the team. He said it will help you to be leader in future. I volunteered and experience did help me in my working life.

Spell Check still does not work.

With respect to all others, "we are what we are". The best advise this particular prof. gave me was "Be resourceful, do the best you can with what you've got." Those words led me to a successful career in management and several fields of engineering. Those words and "enjoy life while you can" have led me through a life that will leave the world better off than it was before I joined it. Yes, I never made it to be the president of the corporation or had a educational chair named after me, but I have enjoyed life to the best that I could.

This philosophy of life, which was greatly influenced by my surveying prof over a few fishbowls of Stroh's or bottles of Budweiser, has led me through some times that many others would have completely failed. I have experienced 2 "fatal" heart attacks in my life which only by the grace of God, the chances that 2 extremely talented cardiologists were at the hospital and were capable of doing what they did when I needed them the most and the prayers of my wife did I survive the first one. I only survived the second one because there were talented fire fighters and EMS personnel there (heart stopped for 6 minutes) and my wife arranging for a helicopter to meet us and transport me to my hospital. No high position in corporate, politics or academia can ever match those gifts to me.

I am now retired after what I consider to be a very successful career. Many others never made it this far in life.

I was also much luckier than my surveying prof. He had almost completed all the requirements for his PhD by the time I met him. He did a very admirable complete geological study of the area including and surrounding Fairbanks, Alaska. The next year, 6 months before he was to give his final presentation, there was a very disastrous earthquake in Fairbanks, Alaska. It wiped out all the work that he had done! He kept his head up high and he continued to help me with learning about life over a fishbowl and a cheeseburger at the "Brass Rail Bar"! God bless him. He was very influential to me and many others.

As for the spell checker, 1) compose your submissions in "Word". 2) Spell-check in that program making all necessary corrections. 3) Highlight the completed work in "Word" and drag it over to a blank message reply area for the Reply to Forum Thread . Your reply and/or the original posting will then have been composed, spell checked and placed in the correct area for it to be then reviewed and submitted. This will work, its how this one was done.

Good Luck, Old Salt

There now is a fly-as-you-go grammar check feature that doesn't work, either. It sometimes tries to make incorrect changes.

It looks like this is working okay now. Let me know if you're still having trouble with the spell checker.

Thank you very much.

For a little humor-

The company I was working for at the time that I was assigned my first PC computer used a word processor named "Multi-Mate". It was OK at the time but a nuisance when spell checking. Among my many duties was the safety/environmental affairs of numerous large warehouses including several located over a well known body of water. Having a unpredictable propensity towards periodic momentary dyslexia (no offense intended to anyone who may have it) I would sometimes type wharehouse instead of the proper spelling warehouse. When spell checking you could either do it each mistake at a time or let the program do all of it at one time.

Problem came in with the spell checker because it would correct wharehouse to whorehouse. From that time on I carefully controlled the spell checker one item at a time. Fortunately my secretary saw the mistake and corrected it before that correspondence was distributed!

Good Luck, Old Salt
