The first presents the reading locally, while the second has the facility to present the reading remotely.

Pressure/Flow gauges are used for local indication

Pressure/Flow transmitters are used for remote indication for viewing or input for a control system.

Flow Meters (local Indication)

Pressure Gauge (Local Indication)

Flow Transmitter (Remote)

Pressure Transmitter (Transducer) (Remote)

Combination Gauge/Transmitter (local and remote)

It is the same for Flow, Temperature, and Pressure!
