Plating With Rhodium

08/01/2013 12:34 AM

Hi,

I have a problem plating silver jewelry with rhodium and gold. The jewelry came out shiny and well-plated after I plated, but after 2-3 days the plated jewelry become dull and not shiny anymore. The plating color also turns darker.

I wonder how to solve this problem. I have tried to change the rhodium solution from 1 brand to another but the problem still exists. Also I have tried to use anti-tarnish solutions so that the plating color stays, but also failed.

Can you help me finding solutions on how to make the plated color stays shine and not change color?

Thanks

You need to apply a layer of Nickell first to prevent the Silver from migrating thorugh your Rhodium plating.

Do you do this?
