Uplinking New Code Methods

08/05/2013 7:24 AM

Hello All,

My employer is looking into reprogramming a DSP (Black Fin) based product by a non evasive means. Currently after the product is completely disassembled we use a terminal boot loader through the UART port at 115200 baud. Aprox 110 k word length.

My question is.... With all of the technologies available ie. IR, fiber optics, and rf. What is in your opinion the best avenue to pursue? The product is in cased in a aluminum housing with 1'x2' Lexan window available for IR. distance is 6"or less. This is a goverment product.

As always,

Many Thanks!

This statement, "1'x2' Lexan window available for IR" seems to answer the basic question."

And is it: non evasive means or, non invasive means?

And there may be security reasons why Big Brother would not like the device to be reprogrammed by outside, non-invasive software changes?
