Can anybody aware how to cut extruded lead tube continuously during extrusion?

We need to cut extruded tube after every start till we get good surface finish.

You need what is referred to as a "flying" saw - a bandsaw mounted on a track that will move along with the extrusion while cutting and then reset to zero for the next cut. Of course, if you cannot tolerate lead dust created by the sawblade, you will need to choose a different cutting method, but the principal remains the same. There are several providers of auxilary equipment for extruders - your extruder provider may be able to recommend a vendor. If you need furthur help, feel free to contact me. You may consider a special wire cut machine as one of the options. Japanese are using this type of technology.

Kishor, please tell us the speed m/minute at which you extrude -initially -when you are ready to cut off imperfect ends.

Speed varies according to size. I can give you maximum speed. It is 22m/min.

One more point is while cutting it should not stop extruded tube at any moment.

This may cause blocking of molten lead inside extruder.

You might use a water cutting machine revolving around the tube axis as it travells along. By use of this method you can also remove the particles and transport it back to the production line (i.e. remelting). The cutted surface is free from debris - and the precision is very good.

You will need at least two cutting machines, one of each side of the tube; one travelling along the pipe while extrusion take place, and the other machine returning to start postion.

This is typically done with a flying cutoff (or carriage cutoff) that quickly accelerates, matches tube speed, clamps, saw cuts (Band or circular), un-clamps, decelerates, and returns home. Some machines will use a piercing blade but it damages the end a bit.

The drive system for the carriage is a high performance drive, and in recent years the AC variable speed drives appear to provide superior performance for the application. The carriage often has significant mass so the HP requirement will be surprisingly high to develop the torque required for the acceleration phases.

You can install what is generally known as a 'Fly Cut Machine' or a 'Cut Off Carriage' which can be pneumatically or hydraulically run.
