My Wife Started Taking Her Meds!

08/17/2013 10:33 PM

Happy week this week so far!

My wife finally accepted that she needs to take her thyroid medication! She has been on it for two weeks so far and it's like having a whole new person in the house!

She did have what she thought was a strange episode though today. She felt weak and run down so she laid down on the bed and actually took a short nap for an hour in the middle of the day. No fussing, fighting, temper tantrums or emotional meltdowns and defiance. She just laid down on her own and took a normal nap then surprisingly woke up feeling rested and relaxed afterward.

We also went to town this evening and there was not a single fuss or fit made over who was driving or where or why I drove where I did or the road construction or road conditions or traffic along the way to get to the places we were going to and to top it all off she actually paid for her stuff with her credit card that comes out of her bank account instead of the joint account I put money in.

She however seems to feel that she is the same and the afternoon nap was just an oddity and that she just didn't feel like fussing and whatnot while going to town, in town, or on the way back plus it only makes sense that she should pay for her stuff and not me but really it's mostly that my and everyone else's personality and attitudes that have changed since she got on her meds.

Personally I am attributing that to her attitude having changed from being wound tight and on the defensive over any and everything to being more rational and focused about what is or is not going on in reality and how she takes what is or is not said by everyone else for a change.

Good lord there might be half a chance that she may end up being a normal stable somewhat rational person sometime soon if this keeps up.

Really I am just happy to have the woman I married back.

Now I am going to go and toss a bucket of soapy water on her and poke her with a stick for a bit and see if the old witch really is dead.

Have you pinched yourself to ensure your not dreaming?

Good effort, its always hard when our partners seem at odd with the grander plan

Please to hear it.

Mind I'm so grumpy, do you have some spare meds I can try?
I've painted the kitchen ceiling (to cover some slight water damage from a weeping joint) so at least I can enjoy some guilt free bow making today

Being grumpy and being half out of your mind are not the same thing.

I like being grumpy myself.

Well we made it through a full day family get together without one single meltdown, fuss, or sour look over nothing.

I do think it will take me a few weeks to get used to not having to walk on eggshells around here anymore again over what ever I may or may not have said or implied or did or did not do with anything.
