Your homework questions are illiterate as well as ridiculously elementary.

An auxiliary boiler was originally designed to only boil down old oxen marrow for the manufacture of soap. This soap was used to coat wooden pillars in the late fall for a ritual contest to climb this slippery pole. The reward usually involved a fair maiden. Some believe that it is the jamming together of oxen and pillar that led to the word auxiliary. Others believe the first fair maiden was named Hillary.

Ordinary boiler is an ordinary boiler. Auxiliary boiler is an auxiliary boiler to the ordinary boiler. Auxiliary runs when either the ordinary doesn't make enough of whatever it is heating or the ordinary boiler doesn't operate.

Ordinarily the ordinary boiler is the one for ordinary operation. The auxiliary boiler operates as an auxiliary to the ordinary boiler when needed for ordinary heat production.

Good Luck, Old Salt
