SA 194 - 4 Nuts

details:

nut size 145mm for stud M100 x 3.0mm x 650L.

problem,

supplier wrongly supply me with nut size 155mm instead of 145mm. can i just machine it? the nut is used for high pressure vessel. do i need to ask for local authority approval?

Why not just the supplier, and get them to offer solutions to the problem?

the nut and stud need to be tightened using HBT device. we dont have the equip for that size. ring the supplier is one of the option, but we urgently need to use it.

In the time taken to wait for replies on CR4, the call could be in to the nut supplier, and the correct ones on the way. Why picking up the telephone is such an averse thing these days is a complete mystery here.

As far as I can tell ANSI B 18.2.4.6M, the dimensional standard referenced by SA194, says the min/max for an M100 nut is 145/150mm. So if the supplied nuts measure 155mm, they are out of spec., unless your PO specified some other dimension.
