Not that we shouldn't be dealing with particulate air pollution, but why do they always have to use scare tactics and numbers that are impossible to prove?

We have the best scrubber technology on the planet; if we're not already doing it, we should be be building and selling them around the world.

We're probably not allowed, because building scrubbers creates CO2 in the process.

And money is greener than everything. That's the real green they are interested in.

Only dead people don't believe that particulate air pollution is a health hazard.

Oh, and politicians who are on the payroll of big business.

And air scrubbers are expensive and add nothing to the bottom line of companies, so why would they comply, if the can pay somebody off?

I guess the adage of "Ignorance is bliss" is false........ or is it....... depends on how you look at it.

Air pollution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Advances in medicines, some directly related to air pollution, may be keeping us alive longer, but at the sacrifice of quality of life.

Asthma in children comes to mind. Maybe this is just a product of my overactive imagination. (Right!)

Years ago the refrigerants in my HVAC industry came under attack for their role in adding elements of chlorine into the atmosphere. several studies showed that typical fertilizers used my millions of farmers played a significant role as well when wet and hit by sunshine. somehow the powerful farm lobby got this little fact buried over time. and the largest source identified turned out to be emissions from volcano's. you cant tax a volcano but you can tax a homeowner or business so refrigerant prices skyrocketed ..personally I thought it was "junk science"used to jack up prices with fear tactics.

It was bound to happen. After a decade of demonizing tobacco smoke, and working 'the pure' into a frenzy of righteous cancer fear over a whiff of second hand smoke in the outdoor air... those health conscious sods dutifully riding their bicycles in traffic to stay healthy....

Sooner or later, they would have to explain why there was still lung cancer without tobacco smoke.

The list of evils is pretty comprehensive, it's not just industrial smokestacks - they even include "cooking emissions" eh. Mind the barbie. No amount is safe. You burnt your toast and now you're paying for it. etcetera.

I foresee an upsurge in the 'raw food' diet markets. And masks, of course. If someone could come up with a truly comfortable face mask, it'd be worth a bundle.
