Thermal Expansion

in ASME sec II part D, coefficient of thermal expansion is given from the range of 20 degC to 900 degC, but who to find the what will be its value at negative temperature like -45 degC????

There's nothing particularly exciting about 20degC.

Provided the material has no phase change, extrapolation to -45degC would be a good first approximation.

Wouldn't the -45C temperature condition result in a "negative" coefficient thereby yielding a "negative" thermal expansion phenomonon?

I would think a bigger concern might be the increase of material brittleness at -45.

PWSlack has suggest the most appropriate way to find the best approximation of value of coefficient of thermal expansion at -45°C.
