Heat Exchangers

11/06/2013 4:05 AM

in heat exchangers there are no. of stationary front and rear head types and shells, and different combination of these are possible (as per TEMA). My question is what are the criteria for selecting a combination of these to make a heat exchanger?????

Your question seems to be: "how do we choose from among the various TEMA types, the most suitable shell & tube heat exchanger ?

TEMA heat exchanger selection depends on the nature of the fluids, the temperature ranges expected, and the ability to perform maintenance.

The most common type of TEMA HX is type BEM.

Please, read up on Shell & Tube heat exchangers from many of the various excellent sources of information...
