Oil Booster Station Help

11/15/2013 6:01 PM

I am currently designing an oil booster station.

I want to know if there is a standard or practice of engineering that indicates the distance between the station and a pipeline??

thanks

This is a question of the meaning of words. Logically, if the booster station is used to induce flow in the pipeline with which it is associated, then the pipeline must pass through the booster station, therefore there is no separation distance at all - the booster station is part of the pipeline.

Most every country has specific rules as to the separation between oil and gas equipment and pipelines as well as to human residential areas, etc.

If not look for the pertinent API or similar standards.

Is the "station" boosting the "pipeline"?
