Electronic Repair Facilities

11/26/2013 7:23 AM

Hi Guys,

I'm curious to know who you are using for repair services regarding your industrial electronics IE Allen Bradley, Siemens, Servo Motors, Drive controllers etc. I have recently been approached by a company called Global Electronic Services out of Georgia USA. They seem almost to good to be true. I am presently having a CT Servo Mtr reworked there at a fraction of the cost of our goto group. Any feedback with this organization? This is not an add btw. I work in thermoforming and have recently been approached by this repair facility.

Peace,

Bruce

The information is commercially sensitive this end, therefore it would not be appropriate to share it in a global forum.

We are seeing more of these "aftermarket" repair facilities. I use one for circuit boards, PLC cards and the like. So far, so good. Even if I don't have circuit diagrams or schematics, they seem to be able to affect repairs, and, as you mention, at quite a lower cost than using the OEM for repair or replacing any defective parts. The technology has been done, so it makes sense to me that some one other than the OEM can repair faults, after all, there is usually nothing proprietary about the electric/electronic components themselves and that is what usually fails.
