We Have 10 Km New Perimeter PVC coated chain
link fabric fence with three layer Barbed wire(GI)
on top and this new fence connecting to around 5 Km Existing
electrical fence .An 11KV Overhead line crossing though
this fence and 33Kv Overhead line along with this fence
Our contractor designed Mesh earthing system 15 meter length 1 meter width
bare copper cable and one GI earth electrode (20 mm dia 3 meter length (depth) and installed directly to the earth (without carbonous back fill) this system installed every 200
metre length and it is not connecting to the plant grounding system. According
to our project
Spec the individual earthling electrode resistance should be less than 5
ohm and
grid valueless
than 1
ohm. But
the measured earth resistance (individual earth electrode is getting 20 to 66
ohm and mesh value is 6
to 1.7
ohm.
Now our contractor saying their
calculation consider only mesh value only.
Is it
acceptable? If not how can reduce the earth resistance?
