Crane On Sizer to Avoid Manual Handling

12/11/2013 4:07 AM

Hi Guys,

We have twin shaft Sizer (MMD 1100) with Bolted caps. Every time a cap is worn badly, we need to replace it and it involved quite a bit of manual handling (which has caused finger injuries and back pain) We are planning on using a Crane to minimize the manual handling, as we have 2 sizers (One duty and one standby) Any ideas if we could use a small size mobile crane which could be used on both sizers?

Thanks,

Insufficient information.

How heavy is each cap?
How much clearance is around each sizer to get a crane in there at all?
Out of curiosity, why the weird capitalizations?

Sorry for the lack of details,

Each cap is 40kg approx and we set up a platform to access the top of the Sizer. clearance is around 10-20mm as you can see in the picture
