Suitable Clear Coating for SS304

I am looking for a solution where i can put clear coat on ss304 that has high abrasion , will Polyurethane work or i need to give any type of binder with it.

Views in this regard shall be highly appreciated as we developed a primer in gray color but for clear coating we still are reluctant to use direct PU clear coat.

I would go with an automotive clear coat that is suitable for SS.

PU is softer, and it will yellow.

Why not identify yourself? You will get a much better reception if you have a recognizable identity.

Then we can track you and communicate with you.

My advice is don't bother, it's a waste of time and money. Properly cleaned and passivated CORROSION RESISTANT steel needs no coating.

These steels are not stainless. They stain, less. They resist corrosion due mostly to iron contamination on the surface. Proper preparation, cleaning and passivation will be much better than coating.

Also due to the surface chemistry of Nickel steel coatings don't adhere very well. That's why the resist corrosion.

Some information on end use and environment would help.

You need to come out in the open and provide much more information for any good advice.

In terms of abraison resitance epoxy type is much better than that of pu, n pu niemally exhibits yellowing. Some formulation blended with phenolic for even better result. Using primer may increase affinity.
