They'll stick, if you throw 'em hard enough!

Having to wear anything is a pain in the arse, if it's optional, it has no chance....Plus you can't vary the position that you are looking at it, that means a sore neck and a sore arm and wrist...Just see how long you can stare at your watch, if you still have one, and this will become apparent....

So much to learn ... such little time. I am sure I have the answer here somewhere written on a piece of paper. Yup. And it is so much easier to carry.

Too small to be a phone, too big to be a watch.... bad match of form and function.

Items of clothing that double as a phone: good for chuckles only.

I doubt that they will catch on.

Reason being that smart phones have stupid batteries. I am sure smart phone users will concur that the necessity for frequent charging is an inconvenience. I expect that reducing the size of the lithium-ion battery to wrist size will further excacerbate this issue.

However, the designers could trade in some features with longer battery life. Either way, the pesky battery issue needs to be resolved for it is thy pain in the gluteus maximus.

Who needs batteries with coil pickups for energy scavenging.
Why not slip a titanium thin unit under the skin ... no need for straps etc and read it like a changing tatoo. Use voice recognition and/or a radio linked finger button unit to control. And stay away from the induction coils if the process needs a remote reset / display turn off. Wrapping your wrist in a 'Dick Tracey' sized watch is so 2013.

Will watches stick?

At least half my friends don't wear a watch anymore they use their cellphone to tell the time. Phone wristwatches seemed like a good idea 50 years ago but no one could have conceived of a smart phone at that time. They really need to be large enough to see the screen. Until they perfect holographic projection, the phone wristwatch is not a very viable device.

My eyes have a hard enough time with the screen on my phone. It's not on my wish list.

Most of the IT guys where I work are now wearing Iphones with wrist mounts. I really hope it does not catch on.
