I tried to edit this thread, but ran out of time. The question was: What is the ETL tag used on electrical goods in place of the usual UL tag? I googled it and found that it is the international body that tests and certifies consumer goods. The group is called Intertek. First I heard of it.

Yes, that is another Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory. UL is probably the most well known, but not only, example.
