01/16/2014 11:04 PM

Deal all:

Does anyone have a great aquaponics system diy to share? I am thinking about putting snails, scavenger catfish, and basil in teh system.

Why not learn How to Search the Internet - Hannon Library and find your own answers?

I already gave you links to your last post.

These people have the best grasp of any self-sustaining center I've ever visited. Their duck pond with tilapia and rice plants produces real food quickly. http://echonet.org/global-farm-tours Disregard the religious stuff. They know their stuff!

I spent 2+ years building the electrical infrastructure of an indoor salt water fish farm.

They are actually out of business now. Based in Israel, the infighting was unreal.

The concept was great and it would have been a very profitable deal if the management could have worked together. It was an amazing experience for me working with 19200 and breaking it down to 480 3 Phase @ 3500KVA. It was a great ride. Now I am back to Electric propulsion systems up to 100HP for the marine industry! And in a drop in format.

There was so much more I learned doing the fish farm, and it was an amazing ride.

It can work, we can have sustainable salt water fish, the issues are the management.

This concept is perfected. 0 Discharge.

I'm interested in Conch but haven't found anyone growing them in an saltwater aquaponics system. Perhaps mangrove trees would support the saltwater cycle?

There's an engineering firm based out of San Diego that has designed custom systems for people that I know. There name's RTSystemDesign, LLC. Check them out, might have to give them a call though.

Not sure what size you are looking for but a couple of links which I intend to try later this year. The video clip makes it look easy.
