As a long time commercial diver, try to become proficient in stick (shielded arc) welding that will do you more good than either Mig or tig in this case.

I did not have any formal teaching or schooling for diving procedures. There was nothing when I was doing this except the Military.(1957-1972) At that time Divers were primarily sub-contractors, not day to day employees.

We primarily used Hard hat diving gear, spun copper and brass furniture gear. We also could stay completely dry making the chance of becoming a part of an electrical curcuit less likely.

Diving is a practice taught, and achieved skill, not a classroom learned subject. Good luck on your endeavors, use caution.

Thank you Mr Bob for your answer! I just opted for a subcontractor but I had a doubt regarding the certification! Because after the diving I have to go for the underwater welding course! By reading oder intervention , they suggest to me that i shouldn't limit my research to california and india only! So can you give me more details about this training issue, the duration etc...? Also in what pat of the world the training will be more propers! Any proposition! Thanks you for your concer

I tried to explain when I was in the trade, 40+ years ago, there were NO schools excepting the US Military either the Army or the Navy. Look towards places like New Orleans for the schools training oil rig divers.
