Infectious Disease Affecting Privacy In Remission?

01/25/2014 6:28 AM

Recent research suggests people are becoming more resistant to one of the most widespread privacy harming infections; Facebook. This epidemiological study shines rare bit of hopeful light into the prospects of future privacy. Indication are that people may be developing a resistance to Facebook similar to that used to overcome Myspace. It may only a few years until most of the world is cured!

I bet it is difficult for some to imagine their lives free of this scourge. I'm also sure the NSA is quite concerned. What do you think?

I don't know if it's NSA related. I still go on there, but I log in and out each time...not because of the NSA, but because of FB tracking, and getting pop up ads relating to every site I visit.

I also heard that young people are leaving FB, because they think it's been taken over by old people, 40+.

You ever think that those number's may reflect on other infections people have caught that have sprung up since Facebook's founding. Just as Facebook did to Myspace.

Youth have aways want something new and exciting. Facebooks old everyone knows about it.

Well, if the NSA were really on their toes, they'd capitalize on this movement away from HipsterBook and start up their own version of Facebook for these younger marks..er..folks, and collect, analyze and distribute private information to third, fourth, fifth parties just like Facebook does behind members' backs.

But then I'm suddenly reminded of the ObamaCare website debacle and that the government couldn't even get a simple website right (but two teenagers could, with just two days' work, to see if it could be done right in two days by two teenagers working independently).

Never mind.

Yes, the government blocked full blown testing and they were warned by the contractor 9 months before that this was extremely dangerous. That contractor was the first to be thrown under the bus. They really needed to fire some of the senior staff if they want the federal government to ever work properly.

According to recent news reports, addiction to social media sites, mobile telephones and the like has become formally recognised as a disease. Some chlorine in the gene pool might work wonders, perhaps.

People staring at phones (listening to Ipods, etc) and not paying attention to their surroundings (for example while crossing the road) already do.

Heck, the same could even be said for the old 1980's boomboxs and walkmans. Self chlorination.

Jack - NOT on Facebook and not on Twitter Tweeting his bowel movements.

And that scene from History of the World, Part I with the boombox toting Roman is indelibly etched into my memory forever.
