I have a problem on a Loos Boiler,on start up the burner starts on low fire for at least a minute and then cuts off.

What could be the problem.

Most likely it's the operator that's the problem.

Any competent operator would never ask strangers for help in solving this problem.

I'd go here:

LOOS INTERNATIONAL - Steam Boilers, Heating Boilers, Hot Water ...

But, what do I know?

This is an attended boiler and it has a Weishaupt oil fired burner.

Then you should try here, instead.

Better yet, hire a service repairman that already knows what they are doing. They will have the experience and tools to properly diagnose and repair your burner. We cannot teach you that one reply at a time.

You probably have a safety switch cutting it off.....could be the low fire proving switch, or any number of other safety controls....

I suspect the primary problem is a lack of proper maintenance. When was the last time the filter was changed? Did you notice any particulates in the fuel? Don't suspect that the interlocks have failed. They may just be preventing a bigger problem from happening.

What do you see when looking through the inspection port? Any flame problems such as asymmetry or dimness? Does the fuel pressure drop off?

The problem is a failure to use the telephone to talk to the boiler manufacturer about the problem. Had that taken place, the fix would be in place by now.
