In general ASME is a bit more harsh on material than the European Standards.

However if your autoclave is designed to work in Europe or a metric area, I think you are better of to use the standards of the country of destination.

Besides choice of materials, a 10 kg/cm2 needs to be specified as working pressure or test pressure.

Tests (water tests) comprise also units of expansion and deformation limits.

So first the door, now the flange and tomorrow the vessel? Regards. D

The trail of threads so far would suggest that the best way to do it is to delegate the task to someone who is more experienced in these matters.

This is not a design bureau. More than some ideas we are not allowed to give and yours definitely is good advise.

The concept of permission does not apply to CR4 users' postings.

The use of an undefined first person plural is abstruse.

Go to a good college, work in the field for several years, make some mistakes, learn from them, find a good mentor, study the code.

You seem to have access to the ASME spec. Thats a very good start!

Why ask a bunch of strangers ? Those persons, who through expert knowledge, drafted the ASME standard, are a much better reference than this forum, and so it should be...
