Please list the manufacturers approached so far without success so that those can be eliminated from enquiries.

Please state the quantities involved.

I just started my search on this. So far I have contacted Ashaway here in the states with no luck. Quantities yet to be determined but it would be for a large manufacturing detail in India. Do you have any ideas on this as I don't necessarily think that it needs to be monofilament cord.

Have you checked at a good sporting goods store that sells monofilament fishing line? Go there and ask them for the highest test line they have. This will probably be in excess of 200# test and well in excess of the range you want. These lines are used for big salt water game fish such as large tuna, sharks, swordfish, marlin, sailfish, etc.

Tell the salesperson your needs and they will help you. Bring along a micrometer to measure with if the spools are not labeled with the diameters.

Good Luck, Old Salt

Try Innovative Textiles in Grand Junction, CO, they make some of the best monofilament on the planet. If you need, I can get their number for you.
