Information on Cambi - THP Process

05/08/2014 3:00 PM

Greetings fellow Engineers.

I am looking to gain a further grasp on the Cambi system. I want to be able to look into the process, and issues or problems that may raise a red flag. One issue I've noticed is what would the power requirement be to heat the influent waste and than cool it. All the stories and etc are great on the system but I want to possibly gain some more information.

Thank you for all your help.

It's an industrial-scale version of the common domestic pressure cooker that breaks up the cell walls of biological material under elevated temperature and pressure, releasing biogas. That gas is usually burnt nearby to provide both heat and power, some of which is used in the process, the net effect being export, the income from which justifying the investment. It is more thorough, has a lower plant footprint, and generates less solid waste to landfill than more conventional techniques.

For further information, contact Cambi directly (not an endorsement).
