You might ask this question in the manufacturing or general section.

Hi,

if you want high vaccum only it is possible to make a good seal by epoxi (very thin very flat no trapped gas bubbles high temperature curing), we use these down to 10exp-7mbar without problems.

If temperature at use is high or pressure is lower than you can try either anodic bonding or metalising of the glass and then brazing or take a glass type that can be directly sealed to metal as in the lighting bulbs.

Do you have more details of the package? There are several methods of sealing but the choice would depend on the size, shape & material of your package.

You can contact Hermetric, Inc. http://mysite.verizon.net/tom.es/. They will be happy to forward an application note on vacuum sealing using projection welding technology.

As noted by others, more specifics about the item in question are required.

You might benefit from vacuum sealing using polyester / vinyl-ester or epoxy resins. A great resource is fiberglast.com (see vacuum products at: http://www.fibreglast.com/showproducts-category-Vacuum%20Pumps-172.html where every imaginable cloth/weave/mat/flake and powder filler are also available, as well as a wealth of educational materials.

Good Luck!
