Given #1, very little; the terms would appear meaningless.

What are the differences in application from the original poster's perspective, please?

In what way? For what purpose? Where is the need coming from? So does the forum! What industry or industries? What line sizes? What end connections? What fluids? Temperatures? Pressures?

Given the lack of information I don't mean throwing this out there.

But taking a reference from Positive Displacement Pumps difference from a Type 1 and a Type 2 pump. The difference is the tolerance. Where one type is a looser tolerance so it can operate in higher temperature environment to handle thermal expansion.

That is my best guess.

Whose valves would that be?

Whose valve description has it been?

Out of which context is this coming?
