Although I do know what piglauncher is, I do not have a correct answer for the code you are looking for. I was going to apologize for my pic but I see you have a sense of humor too. Hopefully someone will have a serious answer for you.

Thanks lyn for the link.Today only I checked my client spec. properly. Impact test is mandatory if we follow the code mentioned in our client spec.

Pig traps are simple things.It can be fabricated from line pipe materials. reducer portion only need rolled plate.It is not big equipments like reactor or regenerator.I have seen plenty of pig traps installed in middle eastern oil fields.

The design of a pig luncher or receiver involves,

a) A good knowledge of the ASME Codes in particular ASME Sec VIII div 1, ASME B31.4 and B31.8. and B31.3

You need the above knowledge to be able to do the following

Wall thickness calculations for the major barrel, minor barrel, the reducer and the End cover.

Other cal calculations of reinforcement of nozzle opening are also necessary.

Support saddle calculations are also required.

b) However before you can commence the calcolations you need to get the process parameters of pressure, temperature, density, viscosity, etc of you process fluid;gas or liquid.
