GTAW Torch with Smallest Back Cap Required

I want to replace some water wall tubes which are connecting top and bottom header of a boiler. Bottom header to tube joint has space limitation. Ie, back side of the joint has limited access .I think, welder need help of a small piece of mirror to get back side view of the joint during actual welding. So, it is very difficult for a welder to use normal GTAW aka TIG torch with long back cap to weld that joint. From where I can get GTAW torch with smallest back cap?

Maybe you could simply saw or grind the end off a normal cap, and then shorten the electrode so it does not protrude.

Ask at your welding supply. All the common torch manufacturers provide stub caps for this purpose- or use duct tape. Otherwise check out post #2.

The minimum size of the TIG torch available in the commercial market at present is 25 mm, with flat cap. You can use 20 mm tungsten electrode and well suitable for your type of applications.
