Why not have everyone register? Some of the data we engineers use daily could be use by terroist. Say like the melting point of metals and the burning tempature of jet fuel... AKA 9/11
Allowing guests to post on community sites is quite common. Many people need to participate a little before they feel comfortable registering. Many of those anonymous posters and readers later register and become active members of CR4.

Yes I understand. I just seems like some of these guest are asking questions about some things that can be sensative. Like the on about the substations. Whay ask for drawings?
dude are you serious ? knowledge is free to everyone. i am sure that terrorists have countries behind them not just individual people sitting on a chair behind their desktop trying to collect data from the internet.
I'm sure we all censor topics (e.g. Don't reply)which could be used for terrorism.
Most information we give is elsewhere on the net anyway.
The other day there was a question about motion detecting switches...it rang warning bells...but I answered as the information is in the public domain.e.g. Most electronics catalogues.
It is easy to take the paranoia too far.
It should be pretty obvious anyway that the site is monitored.
Didn't you notice that Moose in an anagram of ''Gov't agent' (just kidding Moose!)

I'm not paranoied. Everyone's out to get me... LOL.
I just wonder why someone would not register. It helps sometimes to know if you are dealing with someone who has a technical back ground or if it's a layperson who it take a little more explaination.
I'm always on at the members to at least say what continent they are on. I'm all for a bit of privacy, but it's difficult to answer some questions when you don't eeven know the continent!

Oh yes the plan...In your left hand hold a lump of plutonium (the good stuff), about 2/3 of critical mass will do.
In your right hand, hold a similar piece.
Count down from 5, shut your eyes and clap (VERY HARD)
(The usual disclaimers, all competitors must be over 18 years of age, terms and conditions apply...the management in no way endorse the proliferation of loud clapping)

'Thing is, if his intention is to harm, registering won't stop him. He can register, ask his question, get his answers, and disappear. Next thing we know, some place blows up and the signs all point towards CR4 as the source of the information.
Okay, that's a big maybe. Personally, I reserve the right to censor my own responses. If something doesn't look right, I just ignore the thread or report it. If the intent is actually harmless but the information I post may be used by someone else for illegal stuff, I won't give it.
The premise that the information is readily available anyway won't make a difference for me. If someone does something illegal by using information from the Web, I would at least have a clear conscience that it didn't come from me.
Someone on this forum once told me to get off my high horse. No thanks. I like the feeling (the view's not bad too ).
