Lugs for Cables

06/10/2014 12:45 AM

Hi everybody,

I have a motor of 75 KW to be run along with the vaccum pump.

I have a cable of 150 Sq MM with M12 lug crimped on it. The motor terminal has bolt of M16. I want to know if there are lug adaptors or reducers which can be used with our M12 lug for testing this motor.

Personally for testing I would either drill the lug or make up short copper links with correct holes at each end. I would not leave the links as a permanent feature as they could swivel on the single fixing and cause a short circuit, as I would not think the motor terminals would be setup to prevent this happening

There are 150 sqr.mm conductor M16 stud hole lugs. For instance:

LCMA150-16-X of Panduit .See:

Celesta MC1816

and other[not Burndy !].

It would be the physical size of the lug you need to consider. I would think you would need something about 30 mm wide so 5mm thick would be fine for testing. You need something around the same size as your cable
