Power Cable - It is used to power the electrical Load viz. Motor, heater. The power is directly fed to this load from the source with Fuse & overload protection.

And Control cable - is used to control the power carried by above mentioned cable as per conditions/requirements/Logic.The power carried by this cable is Control Power & it can be derived from above power source or seperately. This Cotrol power controls the Power contactors depending on logic as mentioned above.

Cheers..

Briefly:

Power cable supplies power.

Control cable supplies control signals etc...

Anybody, correct me if I am wrong, but simply put, I would say that although both will look similar, control cable is for low level voltage and low current, therefore the electrical insulation will be lower and the gauge will be thinner (e.g. 26AWG). For noise immumity control cable will also have more shielding methods, i.e. braid and foil and well as a drain wire.

Power cable will have higher electrical insulation properties, e.g. 600V and will be thicker gauge (e.g. 10AWG) in order to carry high current levels. Shielding is not as critical for power cables.

In most cases you are right moreirc, but for low power devices the power cable may be nothing more than a thin cable...

Or worse still the device could operate on 'ghost' power, where the power is fed along the signal / control cable. As in a masthead amplifier.

So in that case the coax cable doubles as a power cable and signal cable....?

Hello

I have answered your Post/comments,

Generally best to use the Cable Maker of your particular cable, but try:

some times no different, some tiems has.

In china, power cable means to carry certain current at 380V, so they has insulation up to at least 500V. generally greater than 600V by testing. section area depends on the current value in the cable.

control cable is a complex issue. cannt explain in one words.

it can be simple, like a twist line, or complex like a vidio cable etc. all can be acted as contro cable, so it depends on frequency transmitting and amplitude etc.

power cable can be 3 or 4 or 5 core lines, but control cable can be only 2 in it, or higher up to 25 or more some times.

some of them have shield layer to provide from interference.
