Motor Rotation for the Fresh Air Handling Unit

sir i have asking about the rotation of the motor of the FAHU,during monthly pm of the fahu back to start the motor and we check the rotation is clockwise move.my question is what is correct moving of the motor?CW?or CCW?

The motor should always rotate whichever way that makes the air move in the desired direction.

It will very likely make the air move when rotating either direction, but it is always best to make the air behave as the operator wishes.

mam the position of the blower assembly is CCW ,the actual moving is CW,

Which side are you standing on? CW and CCW have absolutely no meaning this far.

"during monthly pm ...." Is this a 3 phase motor? Did someone disconnect the motor leads without noting the phasing? Most air handlers I've dealt with usually has an arrow close to the drive pulley showing direction of rotation.

yes thats why im telling,now our two units of FAHU same moving opposite derection.ty brod.now i want to suggest to my team leader its time correct the blower rotation.thank you guys.

This is true only of forward-curved centrifugal fans/blowers. Chances are it will fit the OP's situation, but we don't know for sure.

No he did not contradict himself. He replied to Tornado's claim that he had restricted his answer to forward curved fans.

FC or BC, fan wheel rotates in direction of air flow.

There is nothing called correct rotation for such units. The one designed for providing correct results is the correct direction. If you go by books - internationally if the the shaft is rotating anticlockwise - seen from shaft ( load) end - is considered positive direction. But that is not mandatory or compulsory. You may look at the ceiling fan in room to identify it. So don't get drifted by Correct direction.

I have not seen to many air handlers that did not have some type of marking on it for rotation. So find it and follow it.
