Digsilent Powerfactory - Load Profile Import

06/23/2014 5:06 AM

Hi, I am new to PowerFactory and had a doubt. I am doing a load flow analysis of a 1- phase system. For the load profile, I want to import data for a day from a csv/txt file but I can't find a method to do. Could anyone guide me regarding the steps?I tried searching online but could not find any help.

You need to use a spread sheet application like MS OFFICE Excell, or Open Office spreadsheet.

So assuming you have a csv file saved on your drive, open the spreadsheet application and import the file. If it is a csv (comma separated values) then a pop up menu will ask you to indicate any formatting separation syntax, in this case select 'comma'.

I have a csv file with the loads defined. I tried to import it using the parameter characterstic from file feature in Powerfactor. That was successful. But when I do the load flow analysis, it takes only the first value in the csv file and doesn't go to the next value after 1 second. The csv file is of the format

#timestampconstant_power_A
8/31/2011 23:594.557533
09-01-2011 00:004.55245
09-01-2011 00:014.549183
09-01-2011 00:022.8163
09-01-2011 00:031.471467
09-01-2011 00:040.713717
09-01-2011 00:050.6915

I also tried editing it using min instead of timestamp:

minconstant_power_A
13.028083
20.918817
30.542183
40.285
50.285933

Looks like your format in the first timestamp cell is different than the other cells. This would be a starting point to format all as date/time and try again!

Also I tried importing the data as a .dat file directly on PowerFactory, then it gave me an error that the file cannot be read!

It still gives me an error "File has less number of samples than the scale object requires". what does it mean?
