Buy OEM parts. I am sure you will find a distributer that has Parker or other O-rings for sale.

(Still wondering what the parting line is . . .)

In molded objects, there is often a small ridge where the halves (or more parts) of the mold separate for removing the finished object. That is the parting line.

I think I knew that one ...

What makes you think I was off topic? I asked a rhetorical question that should point OP in the right direction. Its all about quality! When the line is visible and not good for the application change the vendor and dont buy cheap products.

Thank you Tornado and Idea Smith..

Yes, I should seek for a better vendor.

What i understand now is parting line is the limitation of the process, but a good vendor can minimise it by a better moulding die. Iam i correct?

I would guess so! Never noticed that molding line on Parker O-rings.

Dear Tornado and Ideasmith,

Thanks for the response.

There is another question raised now. At present the "O" ring that iam using is having a parting line at the OD and ID of the ring . As the critical sealing area is OD and ID, I asked vendor to displace the parting line 90digree apart. Means I want parting line at the top and bottom of the "O" ring cross section.

Now vendor is asking me to opt for injection moulding for this change in location of parting line. At present he is doing pressure moulding for my "O" ring.

My question is : what is the deference in both process? What will be the quality deference of the product from these two process.

My application is vacuum sealing @ 1Mtor.
