FileZilla and GoDaddy Setup

07/09/2014 1:11 PM

I would like to use FileZill to directly access a folder on the GoDaddy server.

Currently this is the top of the tree that I get when I ftp using the ftp set up shown.

What setup steps are necessary to allow me to ftp directly to the library folder under public_html?

Thanks for any assistance.

Marv

The video available under the first link from Solar Eagle worked for me first try. Possibly the only "trick" is to know to use port 21.

I was able to use my alpha-numeric web address (URL) in FileZilla. You shouldn't need the numeric IP address but just FYI it can easily be found by doing a ping on your www.web_address.com.

Why not just call Goddady tech support?

They will walk though the setup until it works. They always resolve all my issues and I use Filezilla as well.

Thanks for all the advice.

I called GoDaddy after I followed all the links and before I read the latest reply from Hero. I learned that I had to set up an ftp account to the directory of interest.

GoDaddy has a 10 step instruction with the the first step requiring a download of an XML document that is used to setup FireFox or other ftp Clients.

I will follow the instruction and see what happens.

Thanks again for the help
