07/14/2014 10:50 PM

Is it necessary to design Nozzle Loads to Vent (nozzle) in a pressure vessel?

Is the nozzle attached to any additional piping that could impose forces on it?

In that case, I don't think you need to worry. Nozzle loadings come into consideration if heavy valves or otherwise unsupported (or poorly aligned) piping are hanging from them. If you have a sketch, that would help in evaluating your conditions.

One would expect a dialogue to be in place with the vessel manufacturer's Applications Engineer over the phone, for that is the right place to ask the question.
