A sketch on a piece of paper doth not a design constitute.

The scheme is in order. Employ good professional to design the device selection. Protection schemes , CT and PT selections are important

Substation design will not be a sketch on a half sheet of paper.10 MW is a huge responsibility and you should employ proper persons ,agencies for the same. The Electricity board will ask you to submit several documents before they approve of the connection.Take care,be wise

Hi ..Interested in your project.

Regret my eyes not so good and cannot get clear definition of devices.

A clearer drawing would really be appreciated.

Basic Scheme as I see it is good .

Coming from a Power Distribution back-round of Designing , repairing breakdowns and later design improvements I have been convinced that much unnecessary capital is wasted because the conceptual part of the design was not given enough attention.

Many designers will start and say we have done this before at " >>>" lets use the same design again. ... this does definitely save a lot of engineering time and money as long as we do not repeat our mistakes. ... it could be good as we do not introduce mistakes

They really need to consider was the first design a good one .. did it provide the versatility required ..also were there later changes made to their design that they do not know of. or have record of.

Especially today ... are there better products/devices now available that we should use?

What is cardinally important is often forgotten in the conceptual stage is where to place the Sections of equipment / switchboards. ...a corner in the property is not necessarily the best place.

In a heavy power Factory we placed many of the main boards in the centre of the Factory.

Many will make one substation building ... which has merit for security reasons or access control.

But there are times that there are a lot of technical and cost benefits in placing some down stream boards in a different position.

Of course we need to know what sort of Plant will be fed by this system.

The layout of plant ... Gen rooms ..cable runs etc. will be considered.

From type of plant we need to decide on operating philosophy. ... all switchboards alive ... some or which is standby ...

Will the system run live connected to supply authority.

Or will it be sectionalised to improve versatility ... and of course reduce prospective fault levels .. this could have a big effect on the fault level of switchgear which could make a big impact on the costs.

In certain instances this will effect the selection of cable and cabling cost.

Positioning of equipment will then affect length of cable runs .,. again cost is a factor.

Coming from a past that had to allow for civil disturbances/contingencies ... or even acts of God ... floods ... fire ...need set up an scenario for each and consider them.

Once the diagram/design is settled it then it is most important to select appropriate protection to ensure the fault protection, interlocking , inter-tripping and coupling to supply authority.

Method of control ... Computer or Manual.

Sequence protection may need to be included

In some cases a lot of capital outlay can be saved by preventing certain situations arising.

These are just a few aspects that should be considered and probable have been ... but I still need to emphasise time spent on conceptualising the basics correctly from the beginning.
