Burn, Bury or Bug Out?

08/15/2014 8:08 AM

Composting dead humans is becoming more popular. I think it is a great idea. What do you think? http://www.seattleweekly.com/home/953590-129/the-urban-death-project-will-help I wouldn't want to eat food made from that compost but I would use it on landscaping. And if there was a memorial service with flowers they could throw those in the composter along with the body.

This is a terrible, shocking, and unacceptable method of treating human remains....It is also a potential source of prion loop contamination into the food supply...It is insanity that would lead to more insanity, as well as inappropriate, and I might add illegal....morons

Doesn't it rain a lot in Seattle?

I wouldn't want to be anywhere near one of these community compost heaps when it floods out.

I composed three different comments regarding this...

All decomposed. None were composted.

This truly makes me ill.

If you don't hate the idea enough already, and wish for more propaganda on this insensitive, repulsive, demeaning practice:

One look at the originator of this outlandish idea may shed some light on the mental acuity of the person named Katrina Spade. (Spade, get it?)

Having a high concentration of dead bodies in an urban setting just reeks of possible problems.

I'll pass on this one.

I figure I may be going to Hell anyway, so I plan to get a head start on the trip at the crematorium.

Would be interested in making a great contribution to science for the sake of investigating further into composting and decomposition biological/biochemistry research? There is an opening for anyone interested in furthering this process. No jewelry, dentures, plates (partial or full), crowns caps, prosthetic devices, body piercing ornaments, gall stones or kidney stones allowed. Can we sign you up for the end of one part of life and the beginning of a new period of life benefiting the whole world with continuation?

Others not interested in this process can contribute bird guano, horse manure, cow patties, Urea, Ammonia, elephant droppings, or other suitable materials.

As for your idea, I think it smells like elephant droppings and is worth less than them. I have enough things to get me so forget it forever. IT IS DISCUSTING!

Good Luck, Old Salt

Ignoring the ethical angle entirely here, this is not a good idea from a sanitary position, and the concept is bad enough that it will likely be used for a new super virus or Zombie movie in the future as the cause of the plague.

The fact that this idea came out of the mind of an architecture design student I can understand how such a rather large medical disadvantage could have been missed.

Reminds me of the Twilight episode below.

This has been around for a long time and will get more popular with time. It is an evolution of thinking man[kind]. If it ain't for you it's OK. But some like it and will do it, more and more all the time.
