I want to have specification on sprinkler head devices, and how to recognize if it is to the recommended standard.

British Standards are applicable to Britain. So, what country does this post apply to, please?

Manufacturers put out spec sheets on eack type of sprinkler and their application and installation guidelines.

Otherwise refer to NFPA 13 for installation guidelines for fire sprinklers.

Just read what is written on the deflector.

Compare this data with what should be installed.

All sprinkler companies have the data sheets on their websites, it should be easy to find the exact data of what is installed.

The glass bulb is color coded for the opening temperature. Be carefull with this info: where direct sun can touch the sprinkler head the standard red bulbs are not applicable (68°C)

You would first want to check the NFPA for your standard as they are the guide for for Federal standards.

Wherefore art thou Patjustine?

The required standard varies from one country to another and it is important to use the local legally defendable standard. Even if the standard that you install exceeds the locally required level you are wide open to litigation from lawyers and criticism from the accountants.
