This is an odd request that makes me ask, why do you want to know?

Are you looking for how much copper can be recycled from one of these machines? I legitimate recycler would not care how much copper is in there, they would just pay a standard price based on the weight.

A legitimate alternator rebuilder would need to know also the gauge and required insulation to rebuild.

Cyclo,

1. No

2. I strongly suspect that it is form-wound, which is with copper that has a rectangular cross-section. "Round copper coil" not applicable.

The round copper wire area is measured in circular mils, (CM) and the weight of of a bare copper wire with 1000 CM is approximately 3 pounds per 1000 feet.

If you are planning to sell the burnt wires, the price per pound varies depending on your location, quality and quantity of your wire!

It seems you do not have the necessary know-how needed basing from your question, that if you are planning to rewind or rebuild the motor, you may fail! The motor may not run, over heat causing the new copper wires to be burned again and may even cause fire!...

From my work experience it is approximately 1 kilogram of copper coil for each kW. To find out the exact amount contact the manufacturer.

If you entrust the work to a rewinder he will do it .Normally they see the damaged coils and manage it
