Rotational Angle

Transformer directional over current protection .

For determining directional fault the rotation angle of voltage is taken has referance . however to set the voltage rotationla angle .... typically 30-60 degree has been used . hence pl explain how to choose the set value between 30 to 60 incase of a transformer with primary connected with cable and secondary connected with busduct ....

The angles of voltages and currents of a transformer depend on its winding connection. For example, if it is Y/D-11 or D/Y-11, the angles of voltages and currents will deviate +/-30 degree. The deviation would be 30, 60, 90 ...120 degree depending on the index connected.
