Historic Breakthrough: Dark Matter may have been Detected

10/24/2014 11:49 AM

Dark matter seems to be almost a thing of science fiction rather than science. It cannot be seen, but it's thought to make up around 85 percent of all matter in the entire universe. It's a web that, stretching throughout space, is believed to give the actual cosmos its very structure… and yet, so far, its detection has eluded science.

its a stretch to label this as a breakthrough. its nothing more than a proposed theory and proves nothing.

Since they are claiming to have detected Solar axions, this whole topic is literally over our heads! The wiki article on axions suggested they can convert back and forth from photons back to axions in a strong magnetic field. Also there was an interesting result in microwave research with a microwave photon being detected with approximately the correct mass equivalent.

One theory for dark matter is that gravity is leaking from matter in an adjacent

dimension into ours, and this theory also accounts for gravity being the relatively

weak force that it is.

If that dimension was preexisting before ours, then this leakage could have deformed

space-time and controlled the distribution of matter in our dimension.

Another theory says that perhaps space-time was created with "blemishes" or

"dimples" into which primal matter collected.

A "dimple" in space time would be indistinguishable from gravity.

No one really knows,so one theory is as good as another.

This is the first time an axion has been reported to be discovered, and that is exiting.

TONGUE-IN-CHEEK -- Dark Matter is what happens to things going faster than the speed of light threshhold.
