Reverse Mounted Vibration Probes

11/03/2014 4:34 AM

I do have to select proximity probe for Boiler feed pump in power plant... where i came to a term provided by bently 3300 series as reverse mounting proximity probe for radial measurement.

Can anyone pls. enlighten, what is basic difference between Standard mount and Reverse mount probes? And what is the selection criteria for selection for this probes.

API 670 does not mention about the selection criteria for reverse mounting proximity probe & standard mounting proximity probes.

Try using the "Search this Forum" function (~upper right of screen).

Hybrid and electric gearboxes use "resolvers" to measure shaft angle, rather than a Hall effect magnetic pickup, because of the need to time the motor electric current to the motor angle. This can give much higher resolution (say, 3600 pulses/revolution) giving you lower speed frequency resolution, and they distinguish between forward and reverse rotation.

some explanation you can read on Vibration Measurement
