Pneumatica Temperature Transmiter Calibration

11/10/2014 3:14 AM

Hi,

Do any of you know of a temperature calibrator for negative temperatures.

We have a temperature (1 to -30º C) to 3-15 psi transmiter that I need to calibrate.

Regards

Calibration is the same isnt it?

Is just the range that is different.

If in doubt ask the manufacturer.

Some literature that might help:

You may look for an AMETEK calibrator they have products on this ranging -90 deg C to 700 deg C also for pressure calibrator.

The Ametek (or any other brand) dry block calibrator that covers a negative temperature range (thanks to Pelletier thermoelectric cooling elements) will provide a traceable temperature source to cool or heat the transmitter's sensing bulb to a specific temperature, but it won't 'calibrate' the pneumatic 3-15 psi output of the transmitter. So, you'll also need a traceable reference pressure indicator like a mechanical test gauge or an electronic pressure calibrator. Wallace and Tiernan's "Wally box" is still used for field grade pressure calibration (now sold under the Wika brand), but any traceable gauge would do the job.
