Spooler System Problems

11/14/2014 2:18 PM

Spooler sub-system problem. When I boot up the computer, I get a Spooler subsystem error, which means I cannot talk to the printer. Research took me to several web sites, but they all seem to want $$ to fix it, Can anyone recommend a reliable site which might fix this critter? FYI System runs 32 bit XP.

I also have registry problems which I would like to resolve.Same problem aka Please send money. I am reluctant to send $$ out to companies I never heard of before. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Bill

Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the driver for the printer?

Maybe the entire printer software:

That's for vista, but a lot of them are the same for different MS versions.

I agree, they should reinstall the printer driver. I know my sister's HP has problems waking up, and has to unplug the AC source and reboot it, then it fine til the next time it tries to wake up again.

What brand of printer?

USB or wifi connected?

I ask this as I have a Epson NX420, using wifi. Same problem but only when "zero configuration" mode of operation. This mode lets XP control the connection verses RALink control the connection.

Did you recently change any thing with the connection. And Kramarat's suggestion of reinstalling the drivers is a good idea. Was there an update to the OS? It may not be compatible with the current driver, so look for an update to that if available.

Otherwise, your stuck paying for some best buy geek squad. Do not allow support via the internet unless you can control their access. You have no idea who is on the other end of the connection, and how much they can access of your files, or install worms that give them access without you knowing about it.

Windows XP has a trouble shooter whats it say?

Have you updated the driver?

Piriforms CCleaner will clean the registry up.
